I’ve been working with Jen and Myke for four years now. In fact, they were some of my first clients, participating in a mini session when Jen was seven months pregnant with little Jimmy. I then did Jimmy’s newborn session, where we began to build a collection of wall art for the family. Jen’s very good about printing pieces that the family and guests will enjoy every day.
We unintentionally began a tradition at Jimmy’s newborn session, where I took this image (and the image in the frame above them, from their maternity session):
In each session, we’ve repeated the shots on the bed, as the family has grown.
 Then along came Ella Rose:
I can’t adequately express how privileged I feel to capture these images for this family. To know that they’re hanging on the walls of their home and becoming family heirlooms….well, that’s what this job is all about. They printed the above image in my Heritage Line style, a giclee print with a hand deckled edge, and float mounted and framed in an archival museum frame. It hangs side by side with a shot of Jimmy from his one year session, also from the Heritage Line. If you’ve been to my studio, you’ve undoubtedly seen it.
So, it was so much fun to do the fall family session for these guys this past week! A few favorites (it gets harder to narrow down the more you work with a family, the more they know me, and the more great images we get).
The post would not be complete without this series: Boys will be boys!

From Jimmy’s one year session:
Two years later, at the same spot (and yes, he did this all himself – no prompting! A good little subject 🙂
And a little fun under the covers and pillows – where the kids were “comfy and cozy”!
From Jimmy’s first year session:

And this year….
This is one of the walls that we’ve begun to design. I’ll take some better images as we continue to build this and the wall adjacent to it, aka Ella’s Wall.
Myke, Jen, Jimmy and Ella, it’s absolutely my great joy to work with you year after year!
