What happens once I decide to use you for my photographer?

We then send you a Customer Client Form to get you thinking creatively about certain images you want us to try and capture, and to be sure we have clear communication regarding all of your event details. A few weeks prior to your event, we touch base with you to make sure we are up to speed on any changes regarding the event. On the day of, we arrive approximately 30 minutes early. After your event, we will set up a meeting with you to review the images at our offices and discuss print/service options. Within 60 days, all of your images are posted online for sharing and ordering.  We want to work with you to make sure that we meet all of your needs, and that your event/session goes as smoothly as possible. If at any time in the process you have questions or changes that we can help you with, please do not hesitate to give us a call.

Sessions:

What type of clothing should I wear for my session?
It depends on what look you are interested in achieving. Typically we like to have our clients have two to three changes of clothing per session – high key (all white), black, and a color that looks great on the subject.
Can we use props in the session?
We recommend it! If you have a special prop you would like to include, such as a guitar, a yoga mat, or a child’s favorite stuffed animal, we will make it a part of several of the images. Your creativity and personality should shine through in your portraits, and props can help us achieve that.  Please mention any props you are interested in including in the Customer Client Form you will receive after booking your session.
How long does a session usually take?
Sessions typically take 1.5 – 2 hours, depending on the number of people who will be in the photo shoot.
Where is the best location for a session?
The best location for a session is one that includes natural light. Open doorways and windows that receive directional light, patios, yards, and parks are examples of good locations. We prefer to shoot on location, at your home or a place important to you, so that you are at ease. On-location photography ensures that your portraits will be truly unique and reflective of your personality and style.  Alternately, we are happy to recommend beautiful outdoor areas or shoot the session at our studio.
What is the best time for a session?
The best time for a session is either in the late morning or late afternoon. Exact times change with the seasons, but a good rule of thumb is 9 – 11 am or 5 – 7pm.
Can I create my own session, or do I have to use one of yours?
We would be happy to work with you to create a customized session that is reflective of your needs and interests. An example might be a Day in the Life, in which Stacey would shoot a full day of your family, documenting each moment in a photojournalist style.
